China Folk Culture Villages
The China Folk Culture Villages are located close to Splendid China and the
Window of the World entertainment parks nearby to the Shekou ferry
terminal.
This is a fun place which recreates 24 ethnic minority villages from
throughout China in downtown Shenzhen. The villages present ethnic
architectural styles, folk customs, art and music, attempting to reflect the
rich folk customs and culture of China's various nationalities. Various
replicas of scenic spots are here including a stone forest from Yunnan and a
coconut forest from Hainan. You can choose to walk around the villages,
cycle or take a boat trip. Just spend an afternoon or morning to
learn something about the many nationalities living in China! There's a
huge folk song and dance party here every evening.
Splendid China
Located next to China Folk Culture Villages and the Window of the World,
Splendid China is a most lively replica of China, reflecting long-standing
history, brilliant culture, art and ancient architecture as well as the customs
and habits of 56 nationalities in China with its miniature scenic area.
Divided into a Scenic Sport Area and a Comprehensive Service Area, Splendid
China offers hundreds scenic wonders which are in the Scenic Spot Area including
the Great Wall, life-size Terra Cotta Figures of Soldiers and Horses of Quiling
Mausoleum.
Many of the world's mosts, such as The world's most ancient stone arch
bridge, Zhaozhou Bridge, the wooden pagoda, Yingxian Wooden Pagoda and the
world's biggest palace and Buddha statue, the Imperial Palace and Leshan Grand
Buddha Statue can be seen here. Local houses with rich and colorful ethnic
customs are all found here too.
You will definitely have an understanding of the five thousand years history
in traveling at Splendid China for just one day.
Window of the World
Window of the World is just near Splendid China and China Folk Culture
Villages. The park contains examples of famous attractions from all over
the world - the Pyramids of Egypt, the Amon Temple of Karnak, the Angkor Wat of
Cambodia, the Grand Canyon of America, L'Arc de Triomphe of Paris, St. Peter's
Cathedral of the Vatican City, the Taj Mahal of India, the Sydney Opera House of
Australia, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa and much much more! Each is
presented as a wonderful miniature replicas.
Some large-sized spectacular attractions are also available like the
108-meter-tall replica of the Eiffel Tower. Reach to its top, you can take
in the beautiful scenery of Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The view of the active
Hawaii Volcanoes, and intriguing scene of glowing rocks with surging molten
lava, and the fountains will really fascinate you.
Litchi Park
Litchi Park is an urban park composed of any pretty pavilions and landscaped
gardens, situated in Futian District. There're some nice palms here.
Lanterns are lit in the park during the New Year period - it's when the place
looks specially attractive!
Nan-ao Bay
Here in Nan-ao Bay, you can expect for fresh and tasty seafood, and it is
also a great area to sample some more unusual sea creatures in lively and
vibrant atmosphere. The sea here is abundant with rare sea animals
including abalone and sea urchin. The beach here is as well a pleasure and
the bay looks over to Hong Kong only 1,000 meters across the water.
The Botanical Gardens
The Botanical Gardens are designed according to traditional principles of
Chinese garden design and there are more than 3,000 different types of plant
here. The gardens also contain a plant research institute as well as a few
nice pavilions that provide shelter from the sun. The gardens are large,
green and clean, providing you a welcome change from the rest of this concrete
city. They are located in the northeast of the city on Xianhu Road with
the majestic Wutong Mountain behind.
